We had an exciting delivery to the field station today: a whole bunch of whale bones!
Sadly, SFSU’s Estuary and Ocean Science Center’s lab in Tiburon is closing due to budget cuts, and the center graciously offered us a donation of several specimens, including a variety of whale bones and other specimens, along with dozens of books. These specimens are going to make such a difference to the educational experience that we offer at the BFS. After all, I can’t think of too many things that are more impressive than whales!
You can come and see the bones in their new home at our Open House on September 13th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hope to see you there!
