Today, Dan and I put on our first “real” event – an Open House at the Bolinas Field Station. And IT WAS AMAZING! We had at least 60 people come through: folks from Bolinas and beyond, students and faculty from College of Marin and a couple of other institutions.
We had so many wonderful conversations, building community and making connections for future collaborations. For example: a living seawall installation by San Francisco State University students, an appearance on a local radio program, an invitation to visit the Rod and Boat Club, field trips for students from local K-12 schools (including a local Blue School), a visit from the Rotary Club, and so much more. And of course, everyone enjoyed visiting with the critters in our live specimen sea tables. They got a love of love today.

I’m so appreciative of all the folks who showed up, and of the warm welcome we received from the local community. We’ll be opening the doors to the public a lot more often in the future!
